Today's Reminder - be yourself

You know you want to be like everyone else. People like others that are like them. It's natural and perfectly acceptable in the unvain lifestyle.

But don't be a conformist all the time. You need to be you -- you need to have your own personality. Those that always follow and never lead end up being dull. You know what they're going to say and do at all times because it's going to be the same as the "norm" for everyone else.

Don't be dull! Have a personality!

In the last two months I decided to be me, unabridged. I tell people how much I like listening to girl music like Miley Cyrus while also enjoying Dirty South-style hip-hop. I wear a nice polo to work one day and a pair of flip-flops with a Surfer's Quest tee the next. One month my hair is blond, the next it's blue and now it's dark brown with highlights.





Some think that I contradict myself because I'm not presenting one consistent personality that they can match to someone they've known before. I'm the square peg in their memory full of round holes.

Guess what? I love every second. You can't be happy unless you love yourself and you can't be yourself if you don't have your individual personality. Live your life!

So go out there and be an individual. You'll love yourself for it and happiness will follow.
