Faceless companies that aren't helpful, part one

Mark wants a "paypal link or something" to help pay my bills. So here it is. I went with "or something" and setup Amazon Payments. I'm asking for $4 as an arbitrary amount. Maybe I'll make more buttons with different amounts but for now just give me enough to cover about a day of internet access.

So here's the short story: I copy-and-pasted some code from Amazon Payments' site and it doesn't work. I get an error and technical support told me it must be my problem. What's the deal?

Greetings from Amazon Payments.

I'm sorry to hear about the difficulty you're having using the payments widget. Please keep in mind these widgets are very different from the ones used in the Associates program. With that said, in my experience, the best way to get the help you need is to post your question to our discussion forums. Our developers watch these forms closely or another member may have posted this exact question and found an answer already. We simply can not help you for the reason given below.

An integration guide with detailed steps explaining how to add Amazon Payments Widgets to your website is available in our Help pages: https://payments.amazon.com/sdui/sdui/choosewidget

As mentioned, I am very sorry we cannot provide detailed technical support when adding FPS widget code to your web site. This is because the many different web hosts have different methods and rules about how and what can be placed on their sites. I would recommend that you contact them to find out how they would like you to add this content.

For example: Some blog sites will not allow the use of iframes or Java script to be run on their sites. You will want to contact your provider in order to find a method for adding these types of links or may need special permissions to add this type of code to some web sites.

It is important to note that we are always ready to help members by assisting them in using the link-generating tools,, however, because there are so many different systems and programs that are used to build web sites, we simply do not have working knowledge of all the systems and programs that are used by our members.

It is also possible your application does not support this type of linking. Unfortunately, we will not be able to assist you in adding your links to your web site, blog, or other media

Thank you for using Amazon Payments.
